Sam M. Walton College of Business students who get a job through the George W. Edwards, Jr. Career Center can now really make some noise about it – by ringing the center’s new career bell.  “When students get their jobs through the career center they come and ring the bell,” said Vikas Anand, an associate professor in the Department of Management and the career center’s interim director. “It’s a fun way to celebrate a momentous achievement in life and will make for a noisy career center as we serve 4,000 students every year. But we’re looking forward to a loud year.”

2014-10-10The career center inaugurated the bell on Friday, Oct. 10, with a ceremony that included George and Charlene Edwards, whose endowment supports the career center.

Last year, 85 percent of job-seeking Walton College undergraduates were employed at graduation. The average salary for a Walton undergraduate business major was $50,266, and Walton graduates received an average of three job offers during their search.
