Viswanath Venkatesh, distinguished professor in the Department of Information Systems and holder of the George and Boyce Billingsley Chair in Information Systems at the Sam M. Walton College of Business at the University of Arkansas, has been recognized with two major honors by the Association for Information Systems.

The group, the largest and most important academic association in the field of information systems, named him an association Fellow for his contributions to the field. Venkatesh was one of only eight scholars globally to be named as a Fellow in 2016.

“The AIS Fellow Award recognizes individuals who have made outstanding contributions to the information systems discipline in terms of research, teaching and service,” the association says on its website. “A Fellow is also expected to have made significant global contributions to the information systems discipline as well as outstanding local contributions in the context of their country and region.”
