Walton to Co-Host Central Banking Conference

The Sam M. Walton College of Business and the Global Interdependence Center will host a daylong conference “Central Banking Series: Location Matters in a Global Economy” at the Fayetteville Town Center on Monday, Nov. 6., beginning at 8 a.m.

Keynote speaker Chris Waller, executive vice president, Federal Reserve Bank of St. Louis, will address monetary policies. Additional sessions will focus on credit demand, capital spending, hiring, retail, supply chain, the local economy and the global economics of Europe and China.

“The GIC hosts economic conferences throughout the world and Walton College is thrilled to be part of such a relevant and impactful program,” said Brent Williams, associate dean at the Walton College. “The conversations that will take place during the interactive panels aim to influence the global economic conversation among policymakers, financial leaders, businesses leaders and academics.”

Senior officers from the Federal Reserve Banks in Atlanta, Chicago, Dallas, Kansas City and St. Louis will address regional financial issues. Local executives from Case Stack, Helen of Troy and Stephens Inc. will discuss local economics and senior leaders from McVean Trading & Investments, CEMEX and Mitchell Communications Group will discuss global economics.
